Tesla Model 3's Performance
Acceleration • The Model 3 comes in two main drivetrains: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD). • The RWD version offers a respectable 0-60 mph time of around 5.8 seconds, while the AWD Performance trim rockets from 0-60 mph in a blistering 3.5 seconds. • This rapid acceleration is attributed to the electric motor's ability to deliver instant torque, providing a thrilling launch experience. Top Speed • The standard Model 3 variants have a top speed of around 140-150 mph (225-240 km/h). • The Performance trim, however, boasts a higher top speed of around 162 mph (261 km/h). Handling • The Model 3 benefits from its low center of gravity due to the placement of the battery pack under the floor. This translates to sharp handling and confident cornering. • The Performance trim takes it a step further with upgraded brakes and sportier suspension for an even more dynamic driving experience. Additional Points Over-the-air software updates can occasionally improve the Model 3's performance, offering additional acceleration or handling tweaks. Tesla offers an optional "Acceleration Boost" for certain trims, further enhancing their 0-60 mph times.
