About
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a battery electric compact crossover SUV produced by Ford. It was introduced in November 2019 and went on sale in December 2020. The vehicle is named after the Mach 1 variant of the first-generation Mustang, but it is not a literal successor to the Mustang muscle car. The Mustang Mach-E shares its platform with the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair, but it has a sleeker, more Mustang-inspired design. It is available in four trims: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. All models come standard with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, but all-wheel drive is available as an option. The Mustang Mach-E is available with two battery pack options: a standard-range 70.0-kWh battery and an extended-range 91.0-kWh pack. The standard-range battery pack offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 247 miles (398 km) on a full charge, while the extended-range battery pack offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 314 miles (505 km) on a full charge. These ranges can vary depending on driving conditions.
The Mustang Mach-E is offered with two electric motor options: a single motor on the rear axle or a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive model makes 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model makes 290 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. The top-of-the-line GT model gets a bump in power to 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque. The Mustang Mach-E is a well-rounded electric SUV that offers a good balance of performance, range, and practicality. It is also one of the most stylish electric SUVs on the market. Here are some pros and cons to consider before buying: • Stylish design • Spacious interior • Long range • Powerful performance (especially in GT trim) • Comfortable ride Cons: • Not as affordable as some other electric SUVs • Infotainment system can be slow at times • Cargo space is a little bit on the small side • No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on base Select trim
